Did you hear that?! What was that sound??

No need to fear, it was merely the sound of me attempting to crowbar my latest piece of work into your day. It’s been a while but I’m back with news of brand new work from yours truly hitting TV screens this week.

Last month I was working with my frequent collaborators KOALA on their latest project; a suite of idents to promote the channel sponsorship deal between US home security company SIMPLISAFE and SKY TV. In its first UK TV sponsorship, SIMPLISAFE have agreed a long term, exclusive deal to align with the most chilling and exhilarating crime content SKY has to offer. SIMPLISAFE becomes the first channel sponsor of SKY CRIME, with the partnership also spanning the CBS JUSTICE and CRIME + INVESTIGATION channels.

I was brought in by KOALA to provide sound design, music and audio post-production services. The brief was to create unrest within the audio, blending sound design and music to create an air of tension. This approach fit perfectly with SKY CRIME’S program output, but we were keen not to over-egg the pudding. Seeing as how channel sponsorship idents act as a bridge between ad breaks and programming, we felt that a subtle tension would bridge nicely between your typical ad break content and the edgier shows on the other side. Even on an ad campaign, my narrative-focused approach kicks in, which I believe makes the end result infinitely more watchable. I’ll let you be the judge. Below you can watch both of the fifteen-second idents and a selection of the five-second idents, of which there are six in total.

The sponsorship will run from the 7th September until early January 2021, with the linear TV and VoD aspects of this campaign continuing to run until the end of March 2021, so plenty of time for you to see me “live”.
